This poster shows results from various shape recognition experiments. We investigated the impact of rotation, occlusion, and the difference between points of maximum convex curvature and points of maximum information in a shape-matching task. In line with previous results from our lab (Schmidtmann et al., 2015), these results again demonstrate the importance of points of maximum convexities in the recognition of planar shapes. Presenting more information along the contour only leads to a moderate improvement in performance.
